The 2007
Annual General Meeting of the Birch Glen
Residents' Association was held on Tuesday, June 5 at the Lorne Park Hall
on Lorne Park Road, next to Lorne Park Secondary School. The featured speakers were MPP Tim Peterson,
Provincial representative
for Mississauga South who spoke on "Energy & Electrical Generation
in Ontario", and Pat Melhuish, chair of the Clarkson
Business Improvement Area (BIA) who discussed the "Clarkson Village Study".
The meeting was successful in that those attending learned more about
both topics of discussion and how they could become more involved in expressing their viewpoints
about the subjects to their elected municipal and provincial representatives.
Unfortunately, the attendance turnout of residents was very small and
we did not have a quorum or attendees. Therefore, we were unable to conduct any of the required
aspects of the AGM. There were no nominations for new Board members, and so no new directors were
elected.
The current Board of Directors will continue to function through the
coming fiscal year. However, we are looking for new directors and would encourage residents who are
paid-up members of the Association to volunteer as Board Representatives. Please call Bev at (905)
823-9875, or send an email to birchglen@sympatico.ca.
